Finding Mom on Facebook

By: Belinda Luscombe

In the TIME magazine I read an article in the Life section, called “Finding Mom on Facebook” by Belinda Luscombe. Dana Lowrey was adopted and she has always been looking for what she called her “first parents”. “She had combed through country records, searched the online adoptions registries and enlisted the help of reunion experts.” (Belinda 45) and still she had not find them. One day she decided to open a Facebook page and ask for help searching. Within 24 hours she was in touch with her birth mother, Mary Starck.

Summary

Laughably Larcenous, I just read this article in the Newsweek magazine. It talks about Jane Lynch and her life as an actress. "This actress steals scenes in many movies and television shows she's appeared in borders on compulsion." (Joshua Alston 52) Says meaning she is an incredibly good actress. Jane answered "I certainly don't try to take attention from anyone else". Jane has been in like 5 movies and is currently on a very famous TV show called Glee, as the helpful, mean, but at the same time funny coach. After reading this article I know like Jane a lot and I will definitely start seeing Glee.

CHAPTER ONE

HOW SHASTA SET OUT ON HIS TRAVELS

In the first chapter of The Horse and His boy there lived a poor fisherman whose name was Arsheesh. With him there lived a boy fair and white name was Shasta. Arsheesh was not very nice to Shasta. One day a Tarkaan named Anradin comes to visit, riding on a great war horse. He tells Arsheesh "I have a mind to buy that boy of yours." It is discovered that Shasta is not the real son of Arsheesh. Shasta, while waiting to be sold, wanders to the stable and sees the war horse; "I wish you could talk, old fellow...” and the horse replied, "But I can." Both of them agreed they should just go, but where? "Narnia," answered the Horse. "The happy land of Narnia ."Then I'd better run away," said Shasta, turning very pale. "Yes, you had," said the Horse. "But why not run away with me?" ."Are you going to run away too?" said Shasta. "Does that mean we'd better go to the South?" "Can I call you Bree?" .Now: for Narnia and the North.

The outsiders
Book Report

“I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe me.”

PonyBoy (the main character) he is a very shy and quiet kid, and his brothers, Sodapop, the middle brother which is always happy an very handsome and Darry which takes care of his brothers since their parents died, the biggest brother, he works a lot and is very hard to Pony. Pony, Soda and Darry are greasers. A group of poor teenagers. Their gang are all greasers, Dally the leader; Two-bit, the oldest of the gang; Steve, Soda’s best friend and Johnny, the gangs pet. They have hard lives or been through some bad stuff/moments. There is this other group, which are against the Greasers, this ones are wealthy and rich teenagers, the Socs. They often like to beat the greaser up just for fun.

One day Johnny was walking when suddenly a group of Socs appear. One hit him, the worst part was that his was wearing heavy rings. Late on, Dally, PonyBoy and Johnny went to the movie. in front of them, there were two beautifull girls enjoying the movie. Cherry and Marcia. Socs. They have a good time together. When they were going toward home, Cherry Soc boyfriend “Bob” appear. Turns out that Bob was the guy that has beaten up Johnny back then. It was late by then, when PonyBoy arrived home, Darry was furious at him, they started fighting. Pony felt so bad that he decided to run to the park with Johnny just to be away from home. In the park Bob and his gang of Socs saw them and they started hitting them and stuff. Johnny took out his blade and accidentally stabbed Bob until he died. Johnny and Pony were scared and they went with Dally so he could give them advice. Dally told them go to a church out of town for a couple of days. They stayed there talking to each other about poetry. They get along pretty well. Dally came over to visit. Johnny and Ponyboy wanted to admit to the police that they were the guilty ones of what happened to Bob. But the church catches fire. They saved a few children and then... you should read the book if you want to know what happened.

This book is written in 1st person. Ponyboy tells the story. It is a fiction book, and it is drama. This is really an interesting and fun reading book. While I was reading this book, I think everything was happening so slow, but at the same time, in one chapter it came a lot of different things.

The main characters are Ponyboy, Sodapop, Dally, Darry and Johnny. Ponyboy, the story is from his point of view. He has light brown, almost-red long hair and greenish-gray eyes, intelligent, small, good build and 14 years old. Sodapop sixteen-going-on-seventeen,always happy, handsome, slimmer, dark-gold hair, dark eyes and he undesrtand eveyone. Dally is never sorry, looks like his father, but acts the opposite, broad-shoulders and muscular, dark brwon hair, blue-green eyes and he looks older, cool, smart. Johnny 16 years old, black eyes, his father abuse of him, looks like 14, gangs pet, jet black hair, and dark skin color. And Dally is my own personal favorite he is rebel, white blond hair, ice-nblue eyes, long hair, jumps little kids, dangerour mood and big. The other caracthers are minor like, Steve, Two-bit, Cherry, Tim, Bob and Randy.

They pass their time smoking, playing cards and reading a book called "Gone with the wind".

3. Who came to visit the boys and what did the visitor brought from home?
Dally visited them, and he brought a letter from Sodapop which described what has been happening back in home.

Sodapop

Sodapop is my favorite character, the most interesting. I like him best.  In the book they describe him as movie-star handsome. Firstly, he is awesome, very attractive and flirty with girls, reminding me of a friend. His actions indicate he is a very generous guy, nice to others, friendly and very good with girls. He is pretty.
